Weaving dyamic interpretations of jazz standards with James’ charismatic form of composition in the vein of Brad Mahldau and Abdullah Ibrahim, this new jazz trio’s style has contributed significantly to the resurgence of the traditional instrumental format . Vocalists are regularly added to the format, such as Gino Sitson or Amy Winehouse, who teamed up with the trio during their recent UK tour.
Combining his European roots with the American musical tradition in composition, band leader James Uhart has created a unique and exciting form of jazz. Venues such as the Jazz Café , Slades , Smoke , 5C and Porters , as well as The Bull’s Head , Jazz After Dark , Ritzy Bar , the Spitz and the Be-Bop Club have born witness to a sensational ensemble of young jazz musicians with a rapidly growing following.
